Food waste is a major issue in Romania. According to UNEP data for 2021, Romanians discard roughly 74 kgs of food per capita each year. Every day, around 6,000 tons of food or approximately 10% of the total sold is disposed of in landfills.

It is being organized on the 7th of December 2022 at the Hotel Marriott Budapest. The summit is being held under the honorary patronage of Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, Minister of Technology and Industry of Hungary and is sponsored by companies/organizations such as TESCO, E.ON, Dentons, Vodafone, ExxonMobil, etc.
Ahead of COP27, Cairo attempts to shed the tag as one of the world’s most polluted cities. As Egypt prepares to host the COP27 climate change conference city of Sharm El Sheikh in November, its capital Cairo is likely to be in the limelight as well.
In collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), an Egyptian public agency, hosted the first preparatory meeting to go over the components of a new initiative on climate change and the sustainability of peace.
Ahead of the Climate Change Summit (CCS), an international climate conference that was organized on the 4th and 5th of October 2022 at Bucharest, a study titled “Romanian perspective on the impact brought by climate change” was conducted in August 2022 at the national level by Social Innovation Solutions and IZI data with the aim of understanding the attitude of Romanians towards the topic of climate change in Romania.
Fundația9, an NGO in Bucharest recently launched ‘One Minute Older’, a campaign to raise awareness of the impact plastic has on our lives, through art. One minute older is the winner of a grant from the ‘Climate of Change’ program, a European program run by a consortium that brings together 23 countries and 26 partner organizations and financed by the European Commission's Development Education and Awareness Program (DEAR).
