The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27 commenced on the 6th of November 2022 at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

An international coalition 'International Drought Resilience Alliance' has been launched to deal with the increasing outbreak of drought globally. Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the 'India Pavilion' at COP-27 held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Sunday. According to the press release, the COP-27 conference is scheduled from November 6 to 18. Welcoming the representatives of all countries to the 'India Pavilion', Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided a simple solution to the complex climate change problem. He said that India believes that action to stop climate change starts from the ground level, hence he designed the India Pavilion with the theme of 'Life'. Scholars of India working towards preventing climate change were also honoured on this occasion.
On the 27th of September 2022 in Cairo, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the European Union (EU), the Embassy of Denmark, the Embassy of Switzerland and the African Climate Foundation signed a new $6.2 million project to support Egypt’s presidency of the 27th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 7–18 November this year.
