Leena Nandan, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change addressed the sideline event at the COP27 summit yesterday. In her address she highlighted that to enhance transparency and investor confidence, a global baseline has to be developed and industries will have to try to adapt themselves to new challenges and regulations.
Customization should be the top priority in development work, she said. She spoke on Saturday in a session organized by the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) at COP27. She said there has to be harmonization and convergence of institutional arrangements, action plans, and resource mobilization methods. She emphasized the need for information dissemination to strengthen communities for adaptation.
She further added that to redefine the meaning of PPP as Pro Planet People. Now we need to move forward and work in the right direction.
