Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the 'India Pavilion' at COP-27 held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Sunday. According to the press release, the COP-27 conference is scheduled from November 6 to 18. Welcoming the representatives of all countries to the 'India Pavilion', Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided a simple solution to the complex climate change problem. He said that India believes that action to stop climate change starts from the ground level, hence he designed the India Pavilion with the theme of 'Life'. Scholars of India working towards preventing climate change were also honoured on this occasion.
The Union Environment Minister said, “I am sure that during the COP-27 period, the India Pavilion will continue to remind delegates that simple lifestyles and personal practices that are sustainable in nature can help protect Mother Earth." Yadav further said India looks forward to progress in discussions related to climate finance. We also look forward to new collaborations to facilitate the introduction of new technologies and the transfer of technology.
He further added that Mission Life combines the powers of the people to protect this earth and teaches them to use it in a better way. This mission democratizes the fight against climate change, in which everyone can contribute to the best of their ability. Mission Life believes that even small efforts can have a considerable impact. Delegates from around the world gathered on Sunday at the United Nations' COP27 summit to discuss ways to tackle climate change in the Egyptian seaside city of Sharm el-Sheikh. This meeting is taking place at a time when the world is grappling with many other crises. These include the Ukraine war, inflation, food, and energy.
