    An environmental data company GHGSat based out of California detected methane emissions for the first time from space. The image was issued with a press release by the company showcasing the data of a cattle farm in California’s Joaquin valley.

  • Tunisia Losing Seagrass

    Tunisia is losing seagrass due to pollution and excessive fishing in ocean water. Named Posidonia oceanica after the Greek god of the sea Poseidon, seagrass fills the Mediterranean sea from Cyprus to Spain, absorbing carbon and reducing the acidity of water. It provides shelter to marine animals and protects sea beaches that are central to Tunisia’s tourism from getting eroded.

  • Garbage mountain as big as 17 storey building is on fire in Delhi

    A massive fire broke out at the garbage landfill at Delhi’s Bhalswa on Tuesday. This is one of the largest landfills and Delhi and covers around 500 acres of land. Garbage dumping at the Bhalswa landfill was started in 1994 and the estimated current weight of the waste is about 80 lakh tonnes.
