Tata Power Renewable Energy has announced a 120 MW solar project in Masenka, Gujarat. TPREL has issued an official statement highlighting that they have installed about 3.81 lakhs solar modules.
These modules used in the project have thin-film glass-on-glass panels of various electricity wattages and have the ability to harness about 440Wp-460Wp of energy. It has been mentioned that the solar project will produce about 305247 MWh annually for Gujarat Government (GUVNL).
The solar modules are an effective alternative to produce electricity in an eco-friendly manner and could help in reducing up to 1.03 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions per year, the statement added. Tata Power's total Renewable capacity is 4,920 MW including 1,400 MW of Renewable projects under various stages of implementation.
On the successful completion of the project the President of Tata Power Renewables said, "Renewable energy is the future. We feel proud to commission the 120MW project at Masenka as it reasserts our commitment to a sustainable tomorrow”.
