  • Sustainable growth goals’ list topped by Shimla

    Niti Aayog released the first ever list of Sustainable Development Goals Urban Index on Tuesday, and it was topped by Shimla. The Central government's public policy think tank analyzed urban local bodies (ULBs) across 56 cities based on 77 SDG indicators. The research was aimed at the local application of SDGs and ensuring their effective monitoring at city level .

  • Maruti-Toyota to start recycling unit

    A vehicle scrapping facility was started in Noida today, partnered by The Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Tsusho Group. The joint venture aims to promote transparent, organized and eco-friendly dismantling of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). The facility has an area of 10,993 sq metre and is equipped to scrap and recycle over 24,000 ELVs per year. About ₹44 crores have been invested for the project and it functions on technologically advanced and modern machines to break down and scrape ELVs in a scientific way.

  • A zero waste pledge by GE's renewable's wind turbine production blade production

    UK's renewable energy giant, GE’s renewable announced on Tuesday about its plan to manufacture zero waste wind turbine blades. By the year 2030, this will make it the latest operator to develop more sustainable production processes in the sector. The initiative is called ZEBRA, or Zero Waste Blade Research project, which aims to design and manufacture completely recyclable wind turbine blades.
