Flood-related diseases witnesses a spike in Pakistan

These days Pakistan is facing a severe economic problem due to the ongoing flood conditions. In such a situation, people are facing a double whammy due to floods in many areas of Pakistan. The condition of Pakistan has worsened as the risk of diseases for people has also increased due to floods. The situation is such that the scene of devastation is being seen everywhere. According to media reports, more than 1600 people have lost their lives due to floods in Pakistan. The flood-affected people are also facing problems with food and drink. Sindh province is the worst affected by the floods.

Flood-related diseases are also wreaking havoc in Pakistan.  Infectious diseases like malaria, typhoid, and dengue fever have spread in many places.  According to the report of the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, Sindh has reported 14,619 cases of diarrhoea, 15,227 skin diseases, 9,201 suspected malaria cases and 665 confirmed malaria cases.

Apart from this, 11 patients with dengue are also being treated.  According to health department data, more than 27 lakh people have been treated in Sindh since July 1.  The health industry is also affected as 1,082 health centres have been damaged by the floods.
