Bolt to install 1 lakh EV charging stations across India in next 6 months

BOLT, India's largest Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network announced that it is all set to install 1 lakh charging stations all over India as demands from non-metro cities such as Jaipur, Nagpur, Nashik, Chandigarh, Surat, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada are surging.

Bolt has already established around 10,000 EV charging stations during the past six months and Bengaluru is at the top followed by Delhi NCR & Hyderabad in the number of EV charging installations. The company said in a statement that the total available Bolt EV charging points in India stand at 4,273 and Bengaluru has the highest number of installed chargers with 1,754 units followed by the Delhi/NCR region at 663 and 347 in Hyderabad.

Currently, the company has added more than 15,000 active users since February 2022 and an “average of 1.57 hours are spent for charging an EV per every charging point” which resulted in a reduction of carbon emission of approximately 1,840.99 gm/Km through EVs, the company added.
