Half of all people fear the internet, a new study reveals

As we retrieve back to a less pandemic-infested world, we realize how digital technology was our reality. People are concerned about the dangers of its over-consumption. A Saudi-based cultural institute, Ithra, conducted a survey, which concluded that about half (44%) of all people are worried about the impact of internet and smartphone use on their health. Ithra, at the launch of their digital well-being program called Sync, announced their plans for an annual global summit, to take place in December.

The rallies will cover a distance of over 7,500 km in a period of seven days (2 October to 8 October) covering the diverse landscapes spread across India.

Vedanta’s zinc smelter plant in south Gujarat faces backlash by Adivasi community

The tribal community residing in Gujarat’s Tapi district had organized a bicycle in October to spread awareness among people about the harmful repercussions of a zinc smelter to be established in Doswada village. Back in October, Vedanta Group’s Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) agreed on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to set up the smelting plant, supposedly HZL’s largest. It is claimed to have a capacity of producing 300 kilo tonnes of zinc ingots a year. The ingots are used for galvanising steel for its protection from corrosion and for producing alloys.
