Easy & Affordable Green Energy Choices

Green energy choices can help reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions and prevent further heating of the planet. Cleaner and greener energy alternatives are always available to us. It is up to us to consider and implement them for our daily energy needs. Some of these alternatives are economical and easily accessible. An individual can make a great difference by getting his/her carbon footprint down to net-zero. Remember, it all begins with you.

Positive Climate Change Action May Save $35 Trillion in the Indian Economy by 2070

Climate change: Satellites map huge methane plumes from oil and gas

For the first time, with the help of satellites huge plumes of methane gas have been spotted. These emissions are largely unintentional but still very harmful for the climate, from coal and oil fields across the globe. Last year's IPCC study suggested that 30 to 50% of the current rise in temp is due to methane. Methane is released from coal mines and oil pipelines due to leakage or during repair. Oil companies and coal mining companies often fabricate their methane emissions, but soon enough with new and advanced sensors, it will be almost impossible to hide methane emissions. During COP26 in Glasgow, 100 countries signed the methane pledge aiming to decrease the methane emission by 30% from 2020 levels.

Rethinking Emission Reduction Strategies: Challenging the Applicability of SBTi for SMEs

A recent whitepaper challenges the prevailing notion that the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is universally effective for measuring and curbing organizations' environmental impact. Authored by sustainability consultancy Eight Versa, the paper contends that SBTi's "absolute contraction" approach to achieving a 90% emission reduction within three decades is ill-suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Instead, the paper suggests embracing an "Intensity Metric" approach, particularly for SMEs, to address carbon and other climate-negative outputs.

Carbon budget for 1.5°C may be exhausted by 2029 if current emission trends continue.

Our carbon budget is not enough to maintain global warming by 2029, comparing to the previous years projections it has been cut to half. What's the actual reason behind this?

The reason behind West Antarctica's rapid ice melt

West Antarctica's ice sheet is melting quickly due to the warm oceans surrounding it, and even with reductions in carbon emissions, this trend is inevitable.

Can smart proteins help fight Climate change health issues in India?
