The Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show (VGGTS) 2022 which was planned to be held at Ahmedabad has been put off with immediate effect as announced by Gujarat’s state government in view of the Covid surge.
The last-minute decision has left the participating companies in shock and hit-hard their ambitions as the small vendors were already halfway through their projects ready for setting up at the mega exhibition.
The trade show was originally planned to take place at the Helipad Exhibition Centre under the theme ‘Towards a Sustainable & Atma Nirbhar Bharat’. It has also been identified as a major setback for the state’s climate action and sustainability goals as the major attraction was going to be the display of electric vehicles by the manufacturers.
As per the reports, the total proposed investment for the mega event was about Rs 250-300 crores and hence it was an ideal opportunity for the companies to showcase their concepts and ideas and to launch their products aligned with the exhibition’s vision.
