he Bonn climate conference ended without any final decision on financial aid to developing countries for loss and damage due to climate change.
This week however, two lawmakers in the US congress have proposed a bill to help India in the fight against climate change. Congressman Scott Peters and Ami Bera proposed to establish the US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership. The bill is a step towards promoting partnership between India and US through sharing technology related to renewable energy, providing technical assistance and to increase common citizens’ reach to renewable energy.
“This legislation will establish the US-India Climate and Clean Energy Partnership to promote bilateral cooperation on clean energy technologies and enhance current efforts to increase Indian citizens’ access to the electrical grid. I am proud to work with my good friend Representative Peters to further strengthen our relationship with India,” said Ami Bera.
