Tata Power has a power generation capacity of about 4920 MW, and 1300 MW is still under different phases of development.
The renewable energy arm of tata power announced that it has commissioned a 100MW solar energy power plant in Maharashtra at Partur, for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). According to reports, the installation is going to reduce around 234 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The project was completed in three-and-a half month that is spread over 600 acres of land.
Tata power now has an operational power generating capacity of 3620MW, of which 2,688 MW of solar and 932 MW is wind.
”Commissioning of MSEDCL project in such a short time frame is a testimony to Tata Power’s extraordinary project execution capabilities. It would help Maharashtra contribute to India’s renewable energy ambitions by increasing the share of renewable energy in the state’s overall energy mix,” said Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power.
