With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, problems of mental health like anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and suicidal thoughts are on the rise. WHO estimates the burden of mental health problems in India is 2443 disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) per 100,000 people. The estimated suicide ratio is 21:1 and the economic losses due to mental health conditions are put at $1.03 trillion in the period between 2012-2030.
