The webinar will concentrate on local and indigenous knowledge in education for sustainable development (ESD), as well as how traditional and cultural practices and community-based approaches are incorporated into teaching and learning to promote environmental stewardship, social equity, and resilience among current and future generations in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The webinars will be place in Room VIII of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.

The webinars will focus on providing concrete and practical ESD activities in accordance with the five priority action areas outlined in the ESD for 2030 Roadmap: 1) policy advancement; 2) transforming learning environments; 3) educator capacity building; 4) youth empowerment and mobilization; and 5) accelerating local level actions. The transfer of local and indigenous knowledge is critical in preserving intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and encouraging education for sustainable development in communities.
