India in partnership with the US will raise $100 billion annually from public & private sector sources to tackle the climate crisis.
In a meeting between India’s finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman & the US treasury secretary Janet Yellen, both parties delivered major commitments amidst the escalating global climate catastrophe.
“Today’s meeting featured the Economic and Financial Partnership’s first session dedicated to climate finance, reflecting our respective commitments to driving urgent progress in combating climate change and the critical role of climate finance in achieving this shared global goal,” said a joint statement.
