India and over 30 other nations have joined hands towards creating a transition to zero-emission vehicles by 2030 or sooner.
The declaration is signed by these nations in a meeting at the COP 26 summit which is currently underway in Glasgow.
Besides, the 30 nations including Canada, the UK, and Mexico, major global vehicle manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo have pledged to boost the production of zero-emission vehicles and make them accessible, affordable, and sustainable in leading markets by the year 2030.
On the sidelines of this declaration, The UK has committed to shifting to clean trucks by ending the sale of most new diesel trucks between 2035 and 2040.
