8000 Hectares of Aravalli Left Out of National Conservation Zone

The Haryana government has pointed out that about 8,000 hectares of Aravallis are excluded from the National Conservation Zone (NCZ).

This means that there can be constructions, cutting of trees, etc. in this green area, which has led to several petitions by environmental activists seeking to amend this. Haryana government has advised its district committees for ground-truthing of NCZ in the districts falling in the National Capital Region (NCR) to not consider “gair mumkin pahar” (uncultivable land), except Gurgugram, as Aravalis. This, however, is being opposed by activists, as it is against the NCR Planning board meetings and would wrongly benefit the real estate players and farmhouse owners, especially in Faridabad.
