The Bhubaneshwar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is going one step further in its e-waste management infrastructure. The already-in-place doorstep e-waste collection service is being extended to 57 more wards of the city.
Earlier, the service was launched only for 10 wards. BMC started this campaign to make people aware of not dumping their e-waste, and encouraging them to hand it over to sanitation workers of the municipal department. E-waste like electric cords, broken computers, cellphones, television sets, keyboards, etc. are collected from doorsteps. The BMC commissioner appealed to the residents to support and participate in the campaign.
