The prototype plane, Alice, took off from central Washington airport and ascended to 3,500 feet in the sky for eight minutes. The company aims to decarbonise the regional flight industry and hopes to achieve the same in the near future. Eviation reported that Alice will be eventually manufactured as a passenger plane with a capacity to carry about 2,500 pounds of weight. It is propelled by two MagniX engines and a sizable AVL battery system. MagniX recently received $74 million from NASA to develop more of these engines. It has a max air speed of about 260 knots. While addressing the successful flight, Eviation CEO and President, Gregory Davis said, “Today’s first flight provided Eviation with invaluable data to further optimize the aircraft for commercial production. We will review the flight data to understand how the performance of the aircraft matched our models
