India's largest producer of aluminium ‘Vedanta Aluminium’ unveiled its two low carbon products 'Restora' & 'green' and became the first brand to manufacture low-carbon products to fulfil demands worldwide.
The report highlighted that both the unveiled products have been officially verified as low-carbon by a global verification assurance firm. The ‘Restora’ product line is which is the low carbon aluminium is launched to meet the rising demands for a better alternative. It is being manufactured at the company's world-class aluminium smelter using renewable energy and it has a GHG emission intensity well below 4 tonnes of carbon which qualifies it to be considered as low carbon aluminium. While the Restora Ultra is being claimed as the world’s lowest carbon-emitting aluminium product.
Rahul Sharma, CEO of Vedanta Ltd. said during the launch that the launch of ‘Restora’ marks a proud moment in our commitment to decarbonize our operations as well as provide our customers with an unmatched competitive advantage with sustainable aluminium products. Restora has a GHG emission intensity that is almost half of the global threshold for low carbon aluminium, he further added.
