The approval of eight PSP projects, six in Sonbhadra and two in Mirzapur and Chandauli districts, is an important step towards transformative change for the state. PSP projects are praised for their clean, green, and ecologically friendly characteristics, which provide high-quality and flexible power without harming riverine ecosystems.

The groundbreaking ceremony kicks off work on eight mega projects capable of generating 13,250 megawatts of power. Greenko Group, Torrent Group, JSW Neo Energy, ACME Cleantech Solutions, Amunra Infratech and Agritech Pvt Ltd, and Avaada Water Battery Pvt Ltd are among the companies spearheading these projects, which would have a substantial impact on Uttar Pradesh's renewable energy market.

The projects in Sonbhadra will use water from the Sone River, while those in Mirzapur and Chandauli will use resources from the Adwa and Musakhand dams, respectively. Notable among these projects is Greenko's 3600-megawatt plant in Gurar, which promises to be a game changer in the region, particularly in terms of improving the socioeconomic fabric of adjacent villages.

Torrent Power's development of a 1750 MW pump storage plant on the Sone River highlights the company's commitment to CSR efforts in the surrounding communities, which will help to improve the region's socioeconomic environment. Overall, these projects are a big step towards sustainable energy generation and economic development in Uttar Pradesh.
