Uttar Pradesh's Rapid Energy Transition

Uttar Pradesh is leading the way in the renewable energy sector, about 4782cr of green energy projects were sanctioned last month.

The 23 new projects are  in the renewable energy sector, coming up in 21 districts -- Jalaun, Mau, Ballia, Azamgarh, Sitapur, Jhansi, Banda, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Noida, Aurraiya, Sonbhadra, Agra, Ambedkar Nagar, Badaun, Mahoba, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Shahjahanpur, and Unnao. With two solar plants in two villages, Jalaun has the largest investment by Orai hydroelectric power generation company. The government is looking to replace the traditional fossil fuel with green energy at a rapid pace to meet the state’s energy consumption demand.

Other major investments are from SJVN of Rs 1000 crore by implementing three Solar Power Projects in the state, AMP Energy is investing in projects worth Rs 450 crore and Rs 300 crore in Ballia and Mau districts.SAEL Limited and NSE are investing 170cr and 125cr in Badaun respectively.
