Knorr has teamed up with professional chefs to show how simple ingredient swaps can reduce food’s environmental impact. This unique initiative is a part of the brand’s  ‘Future 50 Foods’ and ambitious efforts to launch 50 regenerative agriculture projects in five years to spread awareness on climate change in society.

In a discussion with Food Navigator-USA, the global food sustainability director at Knorr’s parent company Unilever, Dorothy Shaver highlighted that food agriculture is a key contributor to climate change, species decline, soil degradation and water shortages and the reason behind that is our food choices which are taking too many resources, damaging the land and hugely contributing to climate change.

“We know that about 5 billion pizzas are sold every year, which is crazy, 3 billion of which are sold in the US, and that doesn’t count the ones people make at home or other places. Consumers also view it as a positive food that they like and feel good about. And it is an everyday dish that can become a symbol of what we can do,” Shaver said.
