In an eco-friendly and sustainable initiative, India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor company and food delivery giant Swiggy have partnered together to use TVS’ electric vehicles for delivering food and its other on-demand services.
The statement issued by TVS highlighted that the collaboration with Swiggy is an addition to its commitment towards climate change action and to boost the E-mobility sector in the country. Mihir Rajesh Shah, Vice President Operations, Swiggy said that they are also looking forward to this alliance as they are also committed to adopting greener and sustainable alternatives to function such as the adoption of EVs for their delivery partners.
Swiggy has also announced last year that is planning to pursue its food deliveries covering 8,00,000 kilometres every day through EVs by 2025 to lower the carbon emission contribution. The recent initiative of food-delivery major with e-cycle manufacturers Hero Lectro to cover food order deliveries through cargo e-cycles is also currently going on in the trial phase in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Both the companies are currently exploring the electric mobility solution specific to the needs of their food-delivery partners for a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative. While announcing the collaboration, Manu Saxena, senior vice president, TVS Motor company said, “Our collaboration with Swiggy is a key step towards strengthening the electrification of mobility in food delivery and last-mile delivery services, furthering the easy adoption of EVs amongst customers".
