As the date for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) is coming near, the preparations for the same have started gaining traction. The COP27 is scheduled to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from 6-18th November 2022. The UNFCC, with the High-Level Champions and Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action, has released the official calendar of the conference.
The calendar focuses on the major thematic areas in which the discussions are going to be held during the global Climate Change Conference. Some of the key areas mentioned in the calendar include climate adaptation, finance, science and technology, and biodiversity. As per the UN officials, the objective of this year’s climate conference is to focus on the strategies that can be employed for climate mitigation and adaptation and to lower the climate change impacts. The summit will allow policymakers and private stakeholders to come together and establish a collaboration to tackle the climate change menace.
