In an attempt to boost the solar energy sector in the country, a special solar rooftop scheme has been announced by the Tamil Nadu state government. With this scheme, consumers can get solar panels installed on their roofs. This scheme has been started jointly by the Government of India and the Ministry of Renewable Energy. Citizens have to visit solarrooftop.gov.in, which is the official website URL, to enjoy the offered benefits.
Many people across the country have already started applying for this scheme from the government and are getting solar panels installed in their homes by taking subsidies of up to 40 per cent. The objective of this scheme is to promote solar energy in the country. Another advantage of this scheme is that consumers can get freedom from the electricity bill every month. Under this scheme, solar panels of up to 3 KW are being installed on the rooftops. In this situation, beneficiaries will get a 40 percent subsidy from the government for installing solar panels.
On the other hand, if someone installs solar panels from 3KW to 10KW, they will get a subsidy of up to 20 percent on the installation of solar panels.
