Maharashtra's petrol pumps to be equipped with EV charging points

The State Government of Maharashtra has announced that they will partner with the petrol companies for the installation of EV charging points on the premises. Dr Nitin Raut, New and Renewable Energy Minister of Maharashtra has officiated the announcement during the Pune Alternate Fuel Conclave 2022.

He further highlighted that Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL), Maharashtra State Electricity Generation Co. Ltd. (MAHAGENCO), and Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd. will collaborate with petrol companies in India to establish EV charging points at fuel stations. They are also planning to install these EV charging stations in schools and college premises.   

The four-day Alternate Fuel Conclave (AFC) Pune 2022 was launched by Environment Minister Aaditya Thackerey on 3rd April to promote the green & alternate fuel and use of electric vehicles in the state. This is the largest conclave on Alternate fuel.
