The leading business conglomerate ITC Ltd. has successfully installed its first off-site solar plant at the Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. The plant has been developed with a total amount of Rs 76 crores with an aim to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The leading business conglomerate ITC Ltd. has successfully installed its first off-site solar plant at the Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. The plant has been developed with a total amount of Rs 76 crores with an aim to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The 14.9 megawatts (MW) plant will produce over 22 million units of renewable energy annually for ITC’s hotels, food manufacturing plants, paper manufacturing, and printing and packaging factories in Tamil Nadu.
As per the statement issued by the company, this project is mainly aligned with the chairman Sanjiv Puri’s ‘Sustainability 2.0’ vision which aims to promote the positive actions concerned with climate change, sustainability, supporting the circular economy to achieve the global net-zero target. To achieve the same the company has also planned to shift to 100 percent use of renewable energy methods for its all electricity requirements by 2030.
