GreenCell Mobility Bags Order For 570 electric Buses

The government of NCT Delhi's Transport Department has placed an order for 570 electric buses with GreenCell Mobility, a player in shared electric mobility across all of India. Convergence Energy Services (CESL), an enterprise of the Indian government, issued the tender as part of the National E-Bus Program (NEBP). The largest e-bus tender ever offered in India is this one, which calls for 6,465 e-buses and is based on Gross Cost Contracting (GCC).

Utilizing its established global experience, advancements in e-mobility technology, and the government of India's vigorous drive for electrification of transportation in India, GreenCell wants to become a dominant pan-India shared electric mobility operator.

In the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh, GreenCell is deploying up to 1,500 E-buses, of which more than 700 are currently in service across 23 cities.

GreenCell Mobility The Bread Winner

Sumit Mittal, COO and director of finance at GreenCell Mobility said, "We are thrilled to be among the winners of this tender, which is part of the larger goal of the Government of India to deploy 50,000 e-buses on Indian roads in the coming years while modernizing and enhancing green public transportation in India. "The same remarkable standards of quality and safety will be upheld by GreenCell Mobility in order to comply with this demand.”

In response to the CESL tender, GreenCell offered 1,900 12-meter low-floor e-buses. This lot was one of the most fiercely contested and competitive, and GreenCell was awarded the right to deploy 570 buses over the course of the following two years. GreenCell's B2G portfolio is increased by more than 60% as a result of this bid, and GreenCell's visibility is increased throughout India thanks to a prestigious counterpart like the Delhi government.
