The UK has planned to launch a satellite in space to measure the Earth’s global warming and the Greenhouse effect in the most detailed data that has ever been captured.
The project will be conducted by the European Space Agency (ESA) and has been named ‘Forum’. The mission is aimed at observing Earth in collaboration with the leading aerospace corporation Airbus which is commissioned to build the satellite at its factory in Stevenage.
The contract has been signed with a whopping €160 million in presence of the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation George Freeman. As per the shared information, the satellite will monitor infrared radiation emerging from Earth’s surface to measure GHG emissions.
During the signing meeting, George Freeman described this project as another brilliant initiative in strengthening climate action goals and said, "Capturing Earth observation data and developing a whole series of applications from it - we're very good at all that stuff. So, I think we're poised for a very exciting time".
