The people in power don’t need conferences, treaties or agreements to start taking real climate action: Greta Thunberg

As the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26 concluded on Saturday, 13 November, with leaders of nearly 200 nations adopting the Glasgow climate pact to mitigate climate change. But, the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg lashed at the agreement and said, "The COP26 is over. Here’s a brief summary: Blah, blah, blah,"

The summit witnessed some responsible commitments to boost the climate change actions from phasing out coal, cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions, mobilizing finance to curb climate change.

Greta acknowledged the commitments but expressed her concern over the fulfilment of these commitments and said that the real work continues outside these halls & we will never give up.

“The people in power don’t need conferences, treaties or agreements to start taking real climate action. They can start today. When enough people come together then change will come and we can achieve almost anything. So instead of looking for hope - start creating it," she added.
