The irrigation department officials are expecting more rigorous rainfall in the coming days. In the earlier monsoon seasons, dams like Panshet, Varasgaon, Temghar, Mulshi and Pavana have recorded over 100mm of rainfall in a day.

This is good news for the city of Pune, which has been facing water scarcity in recent years. The additional water will help to meet the city's water needs for the next few months.

As of 2:59:21 PST on July 20, 2023, the four dams in the Khadakwasla circle have a combined live water storage of 11.2 TMC. This is equivalent to the city's water demand for about 38 days. The current water demand for the city is around 3 TMC per day.

The good rainfall in the catchment areas of the dams is a positive sign for the city's water supply. However, it is important to note that the monsoon season is still in its early stages. There is still a possibility of dry spells in the coming months. Therefore, it is important to conserve water and use it judiciously.
