He stated that energy is essential for sustainable growth and development, and India is making efforts to provide inclusive, resilient, equitable, and sustainable energy for all.
PM Modi highlighted some of India's achievements in the energy sector, such as providing LPG connections to 190 million families, connecting every village with electricity, and working towards providing piped cooking gas to a significant portion of the population. He also mentioned India's initiatives in promoting energy-efficient practices, such as the distribution of LED lights and the agriculture pump solarisation project.
The Prime Minister shared India's goals for the future, including the projection of 10 million annual electric vehicle sales by 2030 and the rollout of 20% ethanol blended petrol. He mentioned India's focus on green hydrogen as an alternative for decarbonization, with the aim of becoming a global hub for its production, use, and export.
PM Modi invited the G20 delegates to join the green grids initiative of the international solar alliance called 'One Sun, One World, One Grid.' He emphasized the importance of caring for the environment and making it a part of one's lifestyle to become climate champions.
