Panaji’s all Govt buildings will be solar powered: Goa Power Minister

The power minister of Goa Sudin Dhavalikar announced that all the 76 government buildings in Panaji will be installed with solar panels to meet their energy demands. The minister also highlighted that the State’s Assembly complex will also get a solar panel after the confirmation from the Assembly speaker.

After the successful completion of this pilot project they are planning to install the solar panels in every huge government building, he further added. In an attempt to increase the renewable energy capacity of the state the government is also planning to establish a 1 Megawatt solar power station at the Goa Engineering Campus at Farmagudi in South Goa. “The preliminary stage work is currently being carried out,” he said.
