The Norwegian ambassador also stated in an interview with ANI that enterprises from Norway, with a focus on the climate and environment sector, will be joining the Minister. The delegation will arrive here on Thursday and depart for Mumbai on Friday.

When it comes to the focus, this is very much tied to work on climate change and the environment. We have our delegation, led by our Minister for Trade and Industries Jan Christian Vestre, with firms from Norway. Therefore, the emphasis is on renewable energy, green shipping, and eventually the circular economy, according to the Norwegian Envoy.

India's Fight Against Climate Change

Speaking about cooperation in green energy, renewable energy, and green hydrogen between the two nations as well as how Norway can assist India in meeting its energy needs, the envoy emphasized the 200 million dollar Climate Investment Fund in India as well as how the task force set up between the two nations is doing its best to address the energy challenges.

"We already work together quite closely. Starkcraft has existed for a very long time. For the purpose of addressing all the various facets of renewable energy, we have formed a task group with Indian energy authorities. Our climate investment fund has made 200 million dollars in investments in India so far, and we're still counting when it comes to research and investments. We're looking into a fresh approach because something is developing quickly. Hydrogen, hydroelectricity, ocean wind, and solar energy are all crucial components of the total energy balance "the ambassador stated.

Norway And India Strategy

The envoy noted that given India's economic growth and its importance in the fight against climate change, more Norwegian businesses will expand their presence in this nation. India is a crucial nation in the fight against climate change and in fostering a sustainable economy. The envoy added that since India has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, it is also becoming a larger market for Norwegian businesses. Speaking further about the 2019 Norway and India strategy, the Envoy emphasized the four main areas of focus in the cooperation, which are: oceans, climate energy, and environment.

The envoy brought up the climate crisis caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and India's position on it, noting that it has a significant impact on Norway and that discussions with India are currently taking place.

"Our own security has been severely impacted by Russian aggression. This has a significant impact on Norway because 30 years of developing trust with Russia were destroyed in a matter of hours. We have also talked about this in great detail with India, for example during the visit of our Minister of Foreign Affairs last year, and the conversation will continue,” according to Frydenlund.
