The state government of Maharashtra formulated a new Renewable Energy Policy, with goals of implementing 17,360 MW of transmission system connected power projects to renewable energy sources, by the year 2025. Dinesh Waghmare, Principal Secretary (Energy) at the Fourth Edition of ‘CII Renew India 2021’ announced on Thursday.
The event was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He declared that these projects include 12930 MW of solar power projects, 1350 MW of co-generation projects, 2500 MW of wind projects, 380 MW of small hydropower projects and 200 MW of urban solid waste based projects.
Minister R.K. Singh had informed the Parliament in March 2021, that NDA has set a target for establishing 175 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the end of 2021-22. This will include 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from Biomass, 5 GW from Small Hydro, as well as 100 GW from Solar. In resolve to become self-reliant in generating power and achieving energy transition towards cleaner and more sustainable, the Central government.
