The CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions, a commercial & industrial (C&I) renewable energy company partnered with Meta to invest in the 33.8 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy projects that are being set up in India. Under the deal, CleanMax will have full control over the project, owning and operating. While for years to come Meta will get to purchase the 100% of the environmental attributes from the projects.
The companies clarified in a statement, “the total project capacity is estimated to be 33.8 MW of renewable energy. Primarily made up of 21.6 MW of wind and 12.2 MW of solar. Also adding the last year's 32 MW of wind energy which was jointly announced. This brings the total investment of CleanMax and Meta to 65 MW of new renewable energy, which will be then added to India’s electrical grid."
Urvi Parekh, Head of Renewable Energy at Meta, confirmed their partnership. She said, “We have deepened our partnership with CleanMax and are proud to add new renewable energy in India. This is yet another step taken towards our commitment to supporting our operations by achieving 100% renewable energy. "We look forward to continuing to move forward to reach our target of net zero emissions across our global value chain by 2030."
Wind-Solar Hybrid Farm
CleanMax has been developing a larger wind-solar hybrid farm, and these projects are just part of it. Once commissioned the overall capacity of the CleanMax wind solar hybrid farm will be 364 MW, which will comprise 154 MW wind and 210 MW solar. Due to their interdependent nature, Solar-wind hybrid plants have become the fastest-growing renewable energy technologies today. These plants are highly efficient in terms of reliability and effectiveness. As they can provide a continuous power supply and help to effectively manage the consumption load.
