The US-based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) said in its report that South Asia is becoming a hotspot of climate change. It is estimated to have the biggest impact on India. According to the report, by the year 2100, the temperature of South Asia is 1.2 to 4.3 degrees Celsius, while the temperature of India may increase by 2.4 to 4.4 degrees Celsius.
The scorching heat in India is breaking records every year and this year the heat is still thrashing the North Indian states. The temperature is rising above normal and during this summer season, the mercury had crossed 45 degrees in many parts including the capital Delhi. But worse than what we have seen so far due to the rising heat, the situation is going to be worse in the coming time. The report said that different countries are taking their own steps to deal with climate change, but the actions of the South Asian country are insufficient.
