Central Pattana Plc (CPN) has opened Central Westville, its first low-carbon mall in western Bangkok, signaling a strategic expansion in the retail sector.
This addition rounds up CPN's current portfolio in western Bangkok, which includes Central Westgate, Central Changwattana, and Central Rattanathibet. Central Westville, a 6.2 billion baht project, spans a 42-rai plot on Ratchaphruek Road and includes a three-story skyscraper with 93,000 square meters of retail space.
The complex unites Central Group enterprises, including the revolutionary "Central Factory" concept shop, and boasts over 300 major brands and 80 eateries. SkyRise Adventure, Thailand's largest rope course, Kiztopia, a popular learning and entertainment playground from Singapore, and Westville Cineplex are among the highlights.
Notably, Central Westville caters to pet owners, with over 1,000 square meters of space available for activities with furry friends. There are 17 paw-friendly restaurants in the semi-outdoor zone. The mall expects to break even within 2-3 years, according to Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, CPN's Chief Marketing Officer, with a daily footfall of 25,000 to 30,000 guests. This strategic effort is consistent with CPN's bigger urban planning concept, which includes the development of different districts around Bangkok, such as Central Eastville, with plans for Central Nakhon Pathom in the coming year. Central Westville is more than just a commercial complex; it is a catalyst for a new neighborhood, influencing urban planning in the same way that global metropolises like New York City and London do.
