California is witnessing a severe wildfire that has increased temperatures in the region as the mercury is hovering between 37 to 47 degrees Celsius. The forest fire has spread across the southern area and has burned about 4500 acres of land to ashes.
So far two people have died due to the fire, and 1500 houses have been evacuated. The California administration has named this fire "The Fairview Fire." Due to this, an area of 2000 acres in Riverside County has been burned. Out of the total 4,500 acres of burnt land, only five percent of the area's fire has been extinguished.
The National Weather Service had issued an extreme heat warning and announced that this heat and rising temperature can wreak havoc in all parts of the state in the coming days too. For the last 9 days, the heat has increased in California. Even at night, the maximum temperature is breaking records and people living in the coastal areas are not getting relief from the scorching temperature. UCLA climatologist Daniel Swain said that this heatwave has broken all past records in the month of September. Heatwave warnings are currently in place throughout California as the temperature is increasing continuously. On September 6, the temperature broke the record of 100 years as the mercury touched the 47 degrees Celsius mark.
