Spain is experiencing the wrath of massive wildfires due to an unusual heatwave in the early summer pushing the temperatures to record highs. The firefighters are deployed to control the fires in several regions across the country.
A tweet from the regional govt of Castile and Leon bring to light that about 20,000 hectares of land had been burned in the Sierra de la Culebra mountain range and the fire was still not extinguished. 11 villages in the region were evacuated to conduct the mission to control the wildfire.
The National Weather Department has reported that the temperature in the region is touching an all-time high of 40-42 degrees celsius. The dry air and heatwave are increasing the cases of wildfires in the nation and Zaragoza city is the worst affected, the agency reported.
