The hydrogen fuel cell technology is a zero-emission technology that is seen as a potential alternative to traditional combustion engines. Hydrogen fuel cells produce electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen, and the only byproduct is water.

The BharatBenz-Reliance hydrogen fuel cell coach has a range of 400 kilometers on a single fill of hydrogen. The coach is equipped with a fuel cell system that has been designed and developed by Reliance Industries. The system uses state-of-the-art components from international partners, and it has been localized to a significant extent.

The showcase of the hydrogen fuel cell coach is a significant step in the development of hydrogen fuel cell technology in India. It is also a sign of the growing collaboration between the automotive and energy sectors in India.
