The initiative aims to raise awareness among consumers, particularly the youth, about the impact of e-waste and the importance of effective e-waste management. Supported by entities such as the UN, Ministry of Electronics and IT, UGC, and TERI, the summit will bring together youth leaders, environmental experts, and policymakers to collectively address the critical issue of e-waste management.

The Youth Eco Summit will focus on four key pillars: Educate, Engage, Innovate, and Felicitate, seeking innovative solutions for sustainable e-waste management, ecological restoration, and environmental impact. With widespread support, including Tecno Mobiles and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Arts, the summit will become an annual event. The summit will engage over 200 schools from Delhi NCR, featuring panel discussions, an Ideologue Competition, a Best Online Slogan & Waste to Art Competition, and Eco Awards for schools.

Notable actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood will discuss the importance of collaborative efforts towards achieving a sustainable future. Mr. Darrin Farrant, Director of the United Nations Information Centre, highlighted the global severity of e-waste, emphasizing the need for international collaboration to make electronics usage more sustainable. Mr. Pankaj Bajaj, Founder of Bajaj Foundation, expressed the summit's transformative goal to mobilize young minds for sustainable initiatives, starting with a focus on e-waste management.

India, being the world's third-largest e-waste producer, has seen a drastic increase from 700,000 tonnes in FY18 to 1.6 million tonnes in FY22. The Youth Eco Summit aims to empower the youth with knowledge, inspire innovation, and promote collaboration to address the pressing issue of e-waste in India, contributing to global environmental preservation efforts. With students actively participating as warriors against e-waste, the summit aspires to make a substantial contribution to environmental sustainability at the grassroots level.
