On Sep 9 The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) launched an app for management of electronic waste. The web portal aims at facilitating the collection, mobilization, processing and discarding of e-waste. As a platform for exchange between buyers and vendors for electronic parts and appliances, the Commissioner of NDMC made a statement.

The old methods of management used by unregulated operators belonging to the informal sector, were unsustainable and improper. It was very difficult to recycle the e-waste materials and it exposed the workers and people to hazardous substances because of methods like incineration and improper dismounting.
The new portal by NDMC will help in better mitigation of the E-waste in an organized way and reduce the health hazards.
