This report highlights the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events due to global warming.
The report reveals the world endured an average of 26 extra days of extreme heat in the past year compared to what would likely occur without climate change. This finding aligns with the recent heatwave scorching parts of India.
Scientists analyzed data from 1991 to 2020 to establish a baseline for extreme temperatures in each region. They examined temperatures from May 15, 2024, and concluded human-caused climate change added an average of 26 extra days of extreme heat globally.
