According to Invest India, India is fourth among all nations in the world for its capacity to produce renewable energy, including wind and solar energy. Up till October 2022, India had 166 GW of renewable energy capacity, which is slightly more than 40% of the total installed power capacity. Several firms, including Bengaluru-based Wenergie, are attempting to take advantage of this momentum in the nation.
In 2018, Akshay Harikumar started his business, Wenergie which aims to make solar energy a dependable source of power around the clock. Energy giant Shell noticed its solutions and included it in the Shell India E4 programme, funding $20,000 in the Bengaluru-based company that had only 8 members at the time.
Akshay explained, "we wanted to create a startup that could capitalize on our practical domain-specific experience and put our knowledge and talents to the test of fire."This project has its difficulties and the major problem involves using a uniform communication protocol and standard to bring together various distributed energy resources on a single, common platform and enable real-time communication between them”. "The issue we are trying to solve is developing a communication and control standard while allowing flexibility to perform optimally together," adds Akshay.
Wenergie Uses Nucleus To Establish Solar Energy Use
Energy-saving capacities of Nucleus Grid-connected Solar PV systems from Wenergie are assembled on a single platform to function as a smart micro-grid after being combined with any form of storage technology by Nucleus, a gateway device for the category of a clean energy asset. This eliminates some of the biggest problems with integrating solar energy, such as its intermittent nature and constant reliance on a grid. This guarantees that the solar PV is functional throughout the day, including periods when there is insufficient sunlight.
According to Wenergie, Nucleusenables homes and showrooms to save their electricity costs by 80% while guaranteeing a 100% uptime. The optimization of residential energy systems is one such application of this. In contrast to other energy management and associated organizations, Wnergie is carving out a position by concentrating on the residential and personal energy consumption arena, claims Akshay.
