Kolkata's Heritage School organized 'Chol Hetey Chol,' a 24-hour walkathon that began at 2 p.m. on Monday.
Students and staff from seven schools, including Sushila Birla, Shri Shikshayatan School, Birla High, The BSS School, Dolna Day School, and DPS Ruby Park, took part in the city-wide relay walk. The route included notable landmarks like Ruby Crossing, Science City, Red Road, Shyambazar 5-Point Crossing, and Dum Dum.
Over 100 people walked the 100-kilometer travel, visiting landmarks like Raj Bhavan and holding 10-minute activities at each of the six schools. The event was intended to promote sustainable living and generate awareness about sustainable development.
Heritage School Principal Seema Sapru highlighted the importance of pushing for good health and collaboration within the larger goal of sustainable development. The walkathon featured kiosks near each school, accompanying automobiles, food supplies, and medical services provided by Charnock Hospital, the event's medical partner. The march ended at The Heritage on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
