Prime Minister Modi Applauds TERI's Half-century Legacy and Calls for Global Climate Change Action

In his address at the 23rd World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS), Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi highlighted the urgent need for collective efforts to combat climate change.

Prime Minister praised the WSDS for fostering partnerships and collective action in addressing pressing global challenges. Congratulating The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on its 50th anniversary, the Prime Minister commended TERI's efforts in promoting sustainable practices. He endorsed the summit's theme of "Leadership for Sustainable Development and Climate Justice," emphasizing the importance of decisive action for a more sustainable future. 

The Prime Minister highlighted India's role in the global fight against climate change and initiatives like mission LiFE aimed at promoting environmental conservation. Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, emphasized the importance of global partnerships in achieving sustainability goals.

TERI, an independent research organization based in India, has been a pioneer in energy, environment, and sustainability research for nearly five decades, collaborating with governments, multilateral organizations, and corporations. The Prime Minister called on stakeholders to commit to building a more sustainable and equitable world in harmony with nature.
